Chabad Student board members are asked to join
one ongoing program committee
and
one event committee per semester
. Please select your 1st choice from the options of committees below. Board members will be placed on committees on a first come first served basis. Once all the surveys are received, you will receive an email announcing who is on each committee.
Here is a brief description of each of the ongoing program committees to choose from. Keep in mind that you will be sharing these responsibilities with 4-8 other committee members:
Friday night Shabbat committee
(Make announcements during dinner, decide Chabadnik of the week, Follow up with new faces, Planned themed shabbats and speakers, Draft the weekly Chabad email - includes ongoing and upcoming events, interview with Chabadnik of the Week)
Taco Tuesday committee
(Promote weekly on social media, Arrive early to greet people, Make announcements during taco tuesday, Follow up with new faces)
Tabling on campus committee
(Make tabling schedule and recruit volunteers, Coordinate tabling with all volunteers, Table at least once a week, Keep track of interactions at the table, Keep track of table supply inventory)
Mitzvah committee
(Coordinate minyans for Shabbat morning, holidays, Sunday BLT, Coordinate soup deliveries when students are sick, Help students get access to mezuzas, tefillin, kippas, lulav/etrog, etc., Help promote kosher dining on campus)
Jewish learning committee
(Sinai scholars - recruit and coordinate class, Sinai scholars follow up - recruit and coordinate class, The Land and the Spirit Fellows - recruit and coordinate, Women’s Relationships Class with Bracha - recruit and coordinate, General Torah classes - recruit and coordinate)

Responsibilities for all event committees include setting the date, advertising, recruiting, booking venue/buying supplies (if applicable), staffing the event, event set-up/clean-up, event follow-up.

Chabad board members that wish to take a more active role in Chabad activities are encouraged to apply for the Chabad Executive Board. The Chabad E-Board consists of a core group that, in addition to the responsibilities of the general board, do the following:
President
(Meets with Gil and Bracha to plan meeting agendas, Facilitates board meetings)
VP of programming
(Follows up with any delegated tasks and committees before each meeting to ensure progress)
VP of Outreach
(Maintain Chabad’s active social media presence)
Secretary
(Takes detailed notes at each board meeting and sends out to everyone)
